One swallow doesn't make a summer
In this project, I captured screenshots of a recorded spectrogram and experimented with stretching them along different scales, which revealed intriguing patterns. I selected four of these images and layered them in Photoshop with film photographs I took using Cinestill 400D, which naturally produces halation around light sources. I also experimented with filters like Distortion and Pixilate to enhance coherence and strengthen the conceptual expression. Finally, I refined the piece in Camera Raw, adjusting midtones, shadows, and highlights to add depth and create balanced tones for the greyscale conversion.
The concept, The Illusion of Quick Results, reflects the idea that "one swallow doesn't make a summer." In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to expect instant outcomes, but meaningful growth requires patience and reflection.
This work emphasizes the importance of dedicating time to the process, cherishing effort, and trusting the journey rather than rushing for immediate results.
