Advanced Topics in Art: Sustainable Art Practice—instruction by @nickrooneystudio

RE:cycles, in the DAAH Little Gallery, showcases the work of students in Art 420.1, who investigated the many cycles; environmental, cultural, and material, that shape our world, even in its inherit unbalance. As we navigate a shifting climate and increasingly fragile ecological systems, students explored what it means to create art sustainably, either in process or in concept.
.
Through experimentation with reclaimed materials, ecological systems, and regenerative methods, these works reflect on sustainability not simply as an environmental concern, but as a cultural and ethical framework. Each piece invites viewers to consider how creative practice can respond to climate change, honour cyclical relationships, and imagine futures rooted in care, resilience, and responsible stewardship.
